We feature a wide range of routes—from gentle lakeside strolls (like Derwentwater paths and the Keswick to Threlkeld railway trail) to rugged high-fell hikes (like Skiddaw and Helvellyn). Do your research and be careful when attempting hikes in the Lake District. You do so at your own risk; see terms for more information.
For valley walks and low-level trails, comfortable walking shoes or trainers are usually fine in dry weather. For high fells, we strongly recommend:
Sturdy waterproof walking boots with good grip.
Waterproof and windproof layers (Lakeland weather changes quickly).
A physical map (OS Explorer OL4 / OL5) and compass (do not rely solely on mobile phones).
Plenty of water, snacks, and a charged phone/power bank.

Do you take requests for specific mountains or local spots? We love a good suggestion! We are constantly working on new artwork celebrating the peaks, waters, and character of Cumbria.
